My November Reading List is full of book ideas for all ages and tastes! Read along with me this month!

nov16readinglist

Hey, book nerds, hey!! What have you been reading lately?

I went through a spurt where I was getting a ton of reading done, but lately…not so much. Between the kiddos activities and school stuff and all the business that comes with having a baking blog in the fall…I’m collapsing in bed every night from sheer exhaustion. But I’ve made a promise to start carving out a bit more time for myself to catch up on hobbies that I love like reading.

I feel so “off” when I don’t have time to fit those hobbies in. It’s not a good feeling.

Here are my choices for November. I’ve already read one, so I’m off to a promising start. Be sure to let me know what books you’ve loved lately so I can consider them for future lists!

goodasgone

Good as Gone by Amy Gentry

This was my BOTM pick and the first actual BOOK-book that I’ve read in quite some time. I really enjoyed it, so much so that I immediately passed it along to a friend. If you like books that keep you guessing with a psychological thriller-type twist, I think you’ll really enjoy this one!

Via Amazon:

Thirteen-year-old Julie Whitaker was kidnapped from her bedroom in the middle of the night, witnessed only by her younger sister. Her family was shattered, but managed to stick together, hoping against hope that Julie is still alive. And then one night: the doorbell rings. A young woman who appears to be Julie is finally, miraculously, home safe. The family is ecstatic—but Anna, Julie’s mother, has whispers of doubts.  She hates to face them. She cannot avoid them. When she is contacted by a former detective turned private eye, she begins a torturous search for the truth about the woman she desperately hopes is her daughter.

fatesandtraitors

Fates and Traitors by Jennifer Chiaverini

I happened upon this at the bookstore and the cover immediately caught my eye. I looked it up on Amazon (am I the only person who looks up Amazon book reviews while at the bookstore?) and the reviews were so good, I knew that I had to add it to the list! If you’re a fan of historical fiction, definitely consider this book!

Via Amazon:

John Wilkes Booth, the mercurial son of an acclaimed British stage actor and a Covent Garden flower girl, committed one of the most notorious acts in American history—the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.

The subject of more than a century of scholarship, speculation, and even obsession, Booth is often portrayed as a shadowy figure, a violent loner whose single murderous act made him the most hated man in America. Lost to history until now is the story of the four women whom he loved and who loved him in return: Mary Ann, the steadfast matriarch of the Booth family; Asia, his loyal sister and confidante; Lucy Lambert Hale, the senator’s daughter who adored Booth yet tragically misunderstood the intensity of his wrath; and Mary Surratt, the Confederate widow entrusted with the secrets of his vengeful plot.

leaveme

Leave Me by Gayle Forman

The sentence in the description of this book grabbed me: “Every woman who has ever fantasized about driving past her exit on the highway instead of going home to make dinner, and every woman who has ever dreamed of boarding a train to a place where no one needs constant attention–meet Maribeth Klein.” I MEAN CAN I GET AN AMEN??? I am so excited to start this book. It sounds relatable and thought-provoking.

Via Amazon:

Every woman who has ever fantasized about driving past her exit on the highway instead of going home to make dinner, and every woman who has ever dreamed of boarding a train to a place where no one needs constant attention–meet Maribeth Klein. A harried working mother who’s so busy taking care of her husband and twins, she doesn’t even realize she’s had a heart attack.

Surprised to discover that her recuperation seems to be an imposition on those who rely on her, Maribeth does the unthinkable: she packs a bag and leaves. But, as is often the case, once we get where we’re going we see our lives from a different perspective. Far from the demands of family and career and with the help of liberating new friendships, Maribeth is able to own up to secrets she has been keeping from herself and those she loves.

The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware

I can no longer resist the hype. This book is EVERYWHERE and I have to find out why. Hopefully it’s worth reading!

Via Amazon:

In this tightly wound, enthralling story reminiscent of Agatha Christie’s works, Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship, the Aurora, begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. At first, Lo’s stay is nothing but pleasant: the cabins are plush, the dinner parties are sparkling, and the guests are elegant. But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, gray skies fall, and Lo witnesses what she can only describe as a dark and terrifying nightmare: a woman being thrown overboard. The problem? All passengers remain accounted for—and so, the ship sails on as if nothing has happened, despite Lo’s desperate attempts to convey that something (or someone) has gone terribly, terribly wrong…

I can’t wait to hear what you think of my picks! Happy reading, cuties!
